Philip Patrick Policarpio, 39, allegedly killed his pregnant girlfriend during an argument at a party on April 12 — first beating her with his hands, then shooting her in the head.

Policarpio — who also goes by "Bugsy," "Sinister," and "Sins" — was taken into custody Sunday at the port of entry in the San Ysidro district of San Diego as he was crossing into the U.S. from Tijuana.

He has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, Lauren Olguin, who was 17 weeks pregnant. He was on parole for a 2001 conviction at the time of the brutal attack, according to the FBI.

"His pattern is one of violence, and he is always armed," FBI Special Agent Scott Garriola said in a statement earlier this month. "He is the definition of a continuing threat to the community."

The FBI said it would provide more information about Policarpio's capture on Tuesday morning.
