Florida police arrested a mother on Sunday after witnesses said she left two young children in her SUV while she was drinking in a bar.
April King, 35, was arrested in Apopka on suspicion of child neglect, according to NBC affiliate WESH.
Police said King, who has an Oklahoma driver's license, was seen drinking at Frogger's bar just before 1 p.m. on Sunday by the general manager and four other people, WESH reported.
King denied that she was at Frogger's, and said she only left her children — ages 2 and 4 — for a brief period of time when she went into a nearby AT&T store.
Police described King as lethargic and slurring her speech. Officers said that during their interaction with King, her four-year-old was seen blowing into a breathalyzer that was required to start the car, according to WESH.
The children were not harmed, WESH reported.
