Georgia gun range owner and his family are killed in robbery, police say

The victims were identified as Lock Stock & Barrel Shooting owners Tommy and Evelyn Hawk and their grandson, Luke Hawk.

The owner of a Georgia gun range was killed in a robbery that also claimed the lives of his wife and grandson, authorities said Saturday.

The Grantville Police Department said the robbery occurred Friday evening at Lock Stock & Barrel Shooting, according to a Facebook statement.

The Coweta County Coroner's Office identified the victims as Tommy Hawk, Evelyn Hawk and Luke Hawk. Grantville Police Chief Steve Whitlock told NBC affiliate WXIA of Atlanta that Luke Hawk was on spring break from college and returned home to help his grandparents with their business.

Police said about 40 weapons and a video camera were taken from the gun range. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is investigating. Due to the number of weapons taken, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives was also called to assist.

The shooting range is in rural Coweta County, about 50 miles southeast of Atlanta. Police are looking for witnesses and have not announced any arrests as of Saturday afternoon.
