A mother is believed to have killed her three children at their Georgia home before taking her own life, police said Tuesday.

The bodies of 35-year-old Kisha Holmes and her 10-year-old and 4-year-old sons and 9-month-old daughter were found at their apartment at a complex in Austell, Sgt. Dana Pierce of the Cobb County Police Department told NBC station WXIA and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Authorities said they are waiting on autopsy results to determine the exact causes of death.

"I have three daughters myself, so I could never imagine harming my children or how it could get that bad," neighbor Roland Milton told WXIA. "I just pray for the family."

The bodies were found by a maintenance worker who called police on Tuesday morning. It is not clear how long the four had been dead.
