Two people were shot and one person was stabbed in a brawl at North Carolina country club, officials said early Sunday.

The Sampson County Sheriff's Office said it received multiple 911 calls shortly after 2:30 a.m. about gunshots and a fight at the Lakewood Country Club outside of Salemburg, North Carolina.

Emergency services responded to the scene where two people had been shot, one person had been stabbed and another had been beaten.

One of the victims was airlifted with "serious" injuries while the others were being treated at an area hospital, the sheriff's office said. It did not name the victims.

The sheriff's office said it appeared the club had been rented out for a private party and that the reason for the "altercation" was under investigation.
