Rocks and mud are piled up to the roofs of some houses in Camarillo, Calif., after heavy rains triggered a mudslide early Friday morning. At least 16 homes were red-tagged by firefighters, meaning they are unsafe to live in. There were no reports of serious injuries.
The neighborhood's trouble was rooted in a 2013 wildfire that left nearby rugged terrain devoid of protective vegetation.
