A college baseball player who vanished after a party has been found dead, officials said.

Alex Hendry, a 19-year-old freshman at Onondaga Community College in Syracuse, New York, was last seen leaving an off-campus party early Sunday, according to a statement from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
His roommate reported him missing Sunday afternoon. He was located following "an extensive search" by police and campus security near the college's baseball and softball diamonds, officials said on Monday.
"The thoughts and prayers of our entire campus community are with Hendry's family and friends," the college said in a statement, adding it was "deeply saddened" to confirm the teen's death.
Hendry, from Rochester, New York, pitched for the Onondaga Lazers and majored in general studies.
Police said they were investigating the cause of his death.
