San Diego firefighters have been heroic all week in the battle against the wildfires. Once again going above and beyond, two firefighters also showed kindness to a furry, frightened feline stuck in a tree in the Cocos Fire zone in San Marcos.
Firefighters spotted the scared cat high up in a tree amid the destruction. They stopped for a second to ensure the animal’s safety in a rescue captured by NBC 7 cameras.
It wasn’t easy, of course, because the cat didn’t immediately run into their arms. After some coaxing, the kitty allowed the rescue and was brought down to safety.
This is an example of one of the many acts of kindness in the face of these fires in San Diego, which have united fire crews, law enforcement, city leaders, residents and total strangers amid trying times.
