Police are searching for a suspect in a shooting Friday at a Bunn-O-Matic warehouse in Springfield, Illinois.
At least one person was shot in the incident at around 11 a.m., and that person's condition is unknown, Springfield Police Commander Brian Oakes told reporters at a news briefing Friday afternoon.
"We're still searching for a suspect. It is doubtful the suspect is still at the scene, but we are acting as if" the shooter may still be there, Oakes said.
Officers and a SWAT team were searching the building for the shooter and possible additional victims, Oakes said.
"If you've never been in this facility, it is a very large facility," he said, adding that the search would "take some time to complete."
Oakes said the investigation was in infancy stage and that the area is closed off.
At least one round was fired, he said.
"The scene is closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic," police said in a statement. "Details are still incoming at this time. Please avoid this area and take alternative routes."
Bunn-O-Matic, a part of Bunn Corp., is a manufacturer of beverage dispensing equipment.
