Two people were killed and two others were injured after a small plane crashed while attempting to land at a Tennessee airport, officials said.

A Collegdale police spokesperson said they received a report of the crash at Collegdale Municipal Airport at around 12:50 p.m., and one of the two people injured was in critical condition.

Witness Bob Etheridge told NBC affiliate WRCB in Chattanooga that he saw the plane circle quickly before it crashed.

“Bank to the left, bank to the right. And then unfortunately the plane went right into the ground.”

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the cause of the crash, the station reported.

Collegedale is a town of around 8,000 people east of Chattanooga.
