The big storm slamming California also stirred up a surfer's paradise at Lake Tahoe.

Lake Tahoe is supposed to be paradise for skiers, not surfers.

That changed on Thursday, when the most powerful storm to hit California in five years rolled across the Sierra Nevada mountains, whipping up hurricane-force winds — and surf conditions on the lake.

Some of the waves reached 7 feet.
