Afghanistan’s decision to release 72 of 88 prisoners previously held by American forces at the Bagram air base has been criticized the U.S. State department.

Spokeswoman Jen Psaki described the detainees as "dangerous criminals" and said there was strong evidence to link them to terror-related crimes, but Afghanistan said there was not enough evidence to hold them.
