Hospital Patient Found ‘Ablaze’ Outside Prince William’s Home Kensington Palace

A man found “ablaze” outside Prince William's London home in the early hours of Tuesday morning has died, according to police.

London's Metropolitan Police said a hospital called the force shortly after midnight to report that a patient had gone missing. Officers searched three addresses but did not find the patient, police said in a statement.

Police said officers responded about three hours later to reports of a man “behaving suspiciously” outside the locked parks of Kensington Palace — where William and his wife live when they're in London.

"Officers attended and found a man, believed to be aged in his forties, ablaze," the statement said.

Fire and emergency officials administered first aid but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police did not identify the victim, saying only that the incident was not deemed suspicious or terror related.

It was not immediately clear what caused the fire.

Kensington Palace declined to comment on the incident, referring all questions to police. It was not clear if William or his wife were in the palace at the time of the fire.
