Iranian Prime Minister Hassan Rouhani called for improved dialogue in the Muslim world on Friday, amid growing tensions between Sunni and Shiite Muslims and as the war in Syria continued to spill into neighboring countries.

Shiite Iran backs the government of Syria's President Bashar Assad, who has been battling largely Sunni Muslim rebels who want to unseat him. The violence has spilled over into Syria's tiny neighbor Lebanon.
