At least 20 people celebrating a wedding were killed by a mortar Wednesday evening in a remote area of Afghanistan's Helmand province, authorities said. Some 60 others were injured, including some in critical condition, Deputy Provincial Governor Mohammad Jan Rasolyar told NBC News. The mortar landed on a house in the village of Bayezo where the wedding party was taking place as a firefight broke out between Taliban fighters and the Afghan National Army outside the village. A government delegation was sent to the area to assist the injured and to investigate the incident.
