Calgary police on Monday said they had arrested and charged a suspect in connection with the disappearance of a five-year-old boy and his grandparents. Police would not identify the man, but said he was charged with two counts of first-degree murder and one of second-degree murder
Nathan O’Brien and his grandparents, Kathryn and Alvin Liknes, went missing last month. Police Chief Rick Hanson said their bodies have not yet been found, but based on the evidence uncovered, investigators believe the three are dead. No other suspects are being sought in the case.
Hanson said investigators are still searching for the bodies. He asked residents in the Airdrie community, a city north of Calgary, to search their properties.
