Mass Quinceanera thrown in Mexico City

Three-hundred forty-eight girls dressed up for their 15th (Quinceanera) birthday celebration, a tradition dating back to the Spanish colonial era when 15- and 16-year-old girls had their official debut in society. The Quinceanera marks the transition from childhood to adulthood and is common in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries.
