New Pictures of Prince George Released on Third Birthday

LONDON — Royal officials celebrated the third birthday of Prince George Friday by releasing new images of him playing at home in Norfolk, England.

The pictures of William and Kate’s first child were taken earlier this month by photographer Matt Porteous, Kensington Palace said in a statement.

"The Duke and Duchess hope that people will enjoy seeing these new photographs. They would like to thank everyone for all the lovely messages they have received as Prince George celebrates his third birthday,” it said.

Porteous said the pictures were taken in a “very relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere” and that he was “honored” they were being shared.

Prince George’s sister, Princess Charlotte, celebrated her first birthday on May 2.
