LONDON - A 25-year-old American suffered “serious” facial injuries after being gored during a bull run at the annual San Fermin festival in Pamplona, Spain, organizers said Wednesday.

The man, from Tempe, Arizona – identified only by the initials R.H.O. - was being treated in hospital after being wounded on Tuesday’s run alongside another American, San Fermin's media office said.

He has a a fractured jaw but a hospital official said the injuries were not life-threatening.

Mike Webster, a 38-year-old occupational therapist from Gainesville, Florida, was gored in the armpit, the same office announced on Tuesday.

Three other daredevils were hospitalized after Wednesday’s run, the update said.

The nine-day fiesta in Pamplona, which features 24-hour street partying, was made famous in Ernest Hemingway's 1926 novel "The Sun Also Rises" and attracts thousands of foreign tourists.
