LONDON - A new photo of Britain's Prince George, taken by Mario Testino, was released by officials Tuesday to mark the young royal's second birthday.

It shows him being held by his father - Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge - in the gardens at Sandringham House in Norfolk, England.

The picture, taken at the July 5 christening of George's sister, Princess Charlotte, was published by Kensington Palace a day before his actual birthday.

"This photograph captures a very happy moment on what was a special day for The Duke and Duchess and their family," a royal spokesman said in a statement.
