Irvin Kershner, renowned director of "The Empire Strikes Back," has died in Los Angeles, according to French press agency AFP. Kershner was 87, and in addition to "Empire," directed Sean Connery as James Bond in "Never Say Never Again," and "Robocop 2." Kershner had been ill for some time, according to the reports.
