TEL AVIV, Israel — Two Israeli soldiers were stabbed near a Jewish settlement in the occupied West Bank and their attacker was shot dead on Wednesday, according to the Israeli military.
One of the soldiers was critically injured and the other lightly hurt, according to Peter Lerner, spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).
"Israeli forces on the scene shot and killed the Palestinian assailant," the military said in a statement.
The wounded were en route to the hospital, the IDF said. Officials did not provide further information on the incident near the settlement of Shiloh in the northern West Bank.
