AT&T will pay $60 million over U.S. allegations it lied in ‘unlimited’ data pledge


The FTC says AT&T promised “unlimited” data plans, but if customers used too much, the wireless giant would “throttle” their phones -- slowing their connections by as much as 90%, making it difficult or impossible to surf the web, use a GPS or stream videos.
