The Carter Center announced Saturday that the 39th president of the United States decided to receive hospice care instead of “additional medical intervention” after a series of recent hospital stays. The 98-year-old and oldest living president will spend the rest of his days in Plains, Georgia alongside Rosalynn, his wife of more than 70 years. Carter’s grandson tweeted that the Carters are “at peace and – as always – their home is full of love.”Feb. 18, 2023
