An investigation launched days after George Floyd’s murder found that the Minneapolis Police Department illegally engaged in race-based policing. A report from the Minnesota Department of Human Rights found racial disparities in how police interacted with people of color. The report found officers using covert social media to falsely engage with organizations like the NAACP, and found officers used racist, misogynistic and disrespectful language.April 27, 2022
