Texas superintendent on his decade-long program arming teachers
“I don’t know why schools need to be gun free zones. I think we need to have guns where we need to protect people,” Harrold Superintendent David Thweatt told NBC News’ Steve Patterson. Thweatt started a program to anonymously arm school employees after the shooting at Virginia Tech in 2007.
