The Polynesian Hokule'a Returns After Traveling the Seas — Without a GPS


After three years at sea, the hokule'a — canoe powered by wind and waves — is returning to Hawaii after a voyage that has spanned 23 countries and territories. The crew, like its ancestors, doesn’t use any modern navigational tool: no GPS or compass.
