A family photograph and an unseen letter a wife penned for her husband sat inside the walls of a 1950s home for decades until a construction crew accidentally uncovered them. The picture and note were part of a time capsule contractor John Murray discovered while gutting a four-bedroom north Phoenix home.

“We've done hundreds of houses, but never found anything like this,” he said.

What Murray found was a gift from then 33-year-old Betty Klug intended for her husband Bruce Klug. The time capsule is dated Sept. 27, 1966, and Betty left thoughts about politics, war and pop culture.

Her husband was unaware Betty had left behind the treasure in their old house.

Watch his reaction to receiving the capsule and find out more about their love story below.
