Attorney General Merrick Garland reversed a Trump-era immigration policy that barred immigration judges from pausing cases they deem low-priority. The move is expected to help the justice department get through the backlog of 1.3 million cases as the country prepares for an influx of immigration from Cuba and Haiti.
