Hoboken mayor on curfew: ‘We needed to take immediate action to protect the public’

Hoboken, N.J., was one of the first cities to close bars, restaurants and playgrounds amid the coronavirus outbreak, even issuing a curfew that requires people to stay in their homes from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Hoboken Mayor Ravinder Bhalla said the curfew was implemented after observing that the community was not heeding advice to participate in social distancing.
