New York health care workers describe critical care units as ‘war zones’


Hospitals across the country are dealing with an influx of coronavirus patients. Two health care professionals shared what it’s like on the front lines of the pandemic. Dr. Jeremy Rose, an emergency room doctor at Mt. Sinai Beth Israel in New York City, explained how staffers are “pulling together” to care for patients like never before. Amy Pacholk, a surgical trauma nurse at Stony Brook University Hospital, described critical care units that look like “war zones.”
