Hillary Clinton fired back at Republicans following Wednesday’s GOP presidential debate, saying the 11 candidates on stage “continued their race to the bottom on women’s health and women's rights.”
“They made one outlandish statement after another. And every single candidate on stage has pledged to defund Planned Parenthood if they become president,” the Democratic presidential frontrunner said in a statement on Thursday.
Clinton called on Republican House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell to pass a government funding bill without defunding Planned Parenthood, a women’s health and abortion provider that has come under fire from conservatives.
"It's bad enough to see hateful rhetoric and lies in a presidential debate. But just like the candidates on stage last night, Republicans in Congress want to defund Planned Parenthood. And they’re willing to shut down the federal government to do it,” Clinton said.
