Bill and Hillary Clinton are expanding their Chappaqua, New York, home by buying up the house next to their current upstate New York abode.

The Clintons recently purchased a three-bedroom, $1.16 million property next door to their current home, real estate documents show. The purchase was first reported by the New York Post.

The area around their newly acquired home has seen increased security since August, after Hillary Clinton became the Democratic presidential nominee and the sale was finalized.

The Clintons bought their first home in Chappaqua in 1999 for $1.7 million.
