Two days after announcing his presidential bid, Donald Trump still hasn’t filed a statement of candidacy with the Federal Election Commission.
Just search his name of the FEC’s searchable database, versus the searches you get for Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, etc.
According to the FEC, any prospective candidate who receives contributions or makes expenditures in excess of $5,000 must file a statement of candidacy within 15 days.
Buzzfeed first noticed Trump still lacking a statement of candidacy.
"Everything will be filed eventually with the government," Trump said during his announcement speech on Tuesday. "And we don’t need extensions or anything, we’ll be filing it right on time."
