Donald Trump will visit the U.S.-Mexico border on Thursday, planning a stop in Laredo, Texas for a tour with border patrol agents as controversy continues to swirl over his comments about Mexican immigrants.
He's also expected to meet with a local Border Patrol union, address local law enforcement and speak to reporters.
Laredo is 96 percent Latino, according to Census figures.
Trump, who topped a recent poll of GOP primary voters, has drawn fire for characterizing Mexican immigrants as "rapists" and "criminals."
