Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren has one word to describe Donald Trump when it comes to his comments about John McCain's military service.
“I think it's worth noting that Donald Trump calling John McCain anything other than a hero is just Donald Trump being a blowhard,” the Democratic senator said at a roundtable in Boston on Monday.
Trump has come under fire from Democrats and Republicans alike for saying over the weekend that Sen. John McCain is “a war hero because he was captured. I like people that weren't captured."
On Monday, Warren also chastised Trump’s fellow 2016 GOP contenders for failing to condemn the real estate tycoon's earlier controversial remarks labeling Mexican immigrants as “rapists” and “criminals.”
“I noticed that the other Republican presidential candidates immediately jumped on him for [the McCain comments], and good for them, but where were they when Donald Trump shot off his mouth about Mexican Americans. Where was he then? The answer was they hid in the shadows,” she said.
