Former President George W. Bush will appear in a television ad produced by the super PAC supporting younger brother Jeb Bush’s White House bid starting this weekend in South Carolina, NBC News has confirmed.
The Right to Rise ad, titled “First Job,” is not affiliated with the candidate’s official campaign and features the former president speaking to the camera while photos of his brother pan across the screen.
“I know Jeb,” George W. Bush says. “I know his good heart and his strong backbone.”
“Jeb will unite our country,” George Bush continues. “He knows how to bring the world together against terror, and he knows when tough measures must be taken.”
Word of the ad comes on the same night that former First Lady Barbara Bush hits the campaign trail for the first time the election, appearing with Jeb Bush in New Hampshire.
For his part, the former Florida governor has made his family a key component to his final argument to voters in the Granite State ahead of the election on Tuesday.
and it is widely expected that the former president will join his brother on the campaign trail in coming weeks.
