Kasich Forms New Political Organization As He Mulls 2016 Run

Ohio Republican Gov. John Kasich and his allies have officially formed a new 527 political organization as he mulls a possible presidential run.

The new group, called New Day for America, formally filed paperwork with the Internal Revenue Service on Monday.

In a video posted on, Kasich says the group is meant for “meeting and talking to more people, and [to] see if by coming together, we can put in motion the solutions that will get this great idea called America working the right way again.”

On NBC’s Meet the Press on Sunday, Kasich said “all my options are on the table” as he considers a presidential run.

"I'm trying to determine if this is what the Lord wants," said Kasich. "I'm not going to find that out lying in bed hoping lightning strikes, so I'm out there, one foot in front of another aggressively.”
