Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry will announce his 2016 decision on June 4 in Dallas.

His wife, Anita Perry, recently joined Twitter and Facebook and tweeted news of the “special announcement” on Friday. Since his failed 2012 presidential run, Perry has traveled extensively to the states that hold early presidential nominating contests and made clear he is examining a second run.

Perry is expected to join an already crowded GOP field where he is polling in the single digits. But the longest serving governor of the Lone Star state has said he has been preparing for a second run since his previous unsuccessful run.

Perry also faces an indictment in Travis County on abuse-of-power charges.
