The November midterms are finally over.

Republican Martha McSally has defeated Democrat Ron Barber after a lengthy recount, finalizing the last outstanding race of the 2014 congressional elections.

McSally, a former Air Force combat pilot, won by 167 votes out of about 220,000 cast, according to the Associated Press.

Barber, a former aide to Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, narrowly defeated McSally in 2012.

The result in the Tuscon-area district means that Republicans will control 247 seats in the United States House, their largest majority in 83 years.
