Alito’s antipathy to abortion rights is longstanding and well documented. But his own involvement in a landmark abortion rights case is often forgotten.
About 150 demonstrators on Monday night marched to the home of Justice Samuel Alito, who authored the leaked draft opinion that would overturn Roe v. Wade.
“If the person behind it thinks that it will affect our work, that’s just foolish,” Roberts said in his first public appearance since the draft opinion was published Monday night.
More than 600,000 women received an abortion in 2018 in the U.S., according to the latest data recorded from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Chief Justice John Roberts ordered the marshal of the court to investigate the leak, but Republican lawmakers called for a Justice Department investigation too.
