Shia LaBeouf has had his ups and downs in recent months — and it's being reflected in his latest performance art piece.
LaBeouf, along with musical collaborators Nastja Sade Rönkkö and Luke Turner, are livestreaming their experience for 24 hours in a cramped elevator in Oxford, England. The trio started the project Friday morning — using the hashtag #ELEVATE — and will end it at 9 a.m. local time Saturday.
LaBeouf is allowed to take bathroom breaks, and will also step outside temporarily to host a talk Friday night at the debating society at Oxford University.
Visitors have been sharing their experiences on the elevator with the 29-year-old "Transformers" star, who is answering questions and taking selfies.
LaBeouf is no stranger to bizarre stunts. Last November, he sat in a New York City movie theater to binge-watch all 29 of his films as part of his #ALLMYMOVIES project.
The following month, LaBeouf, Rönkkö and Turner staged a phone-a-thon in which they asked callers to "touch their souls."
