President Barack Obama is unleashing his wild side.

Obama will trek the Alaskan wilderness with survival expert Bear Grylls on an episode of the reality TV show "Running Wild With Bear Grylls," airing on NBC at 10 p.m. ET Thursday night.

The episode, which was filmed in September, is part of Obama's ongoing push to highlight the effects of climate change — while showing the more adventurous side of the president.

Obama and Grylls ate wild salmon that was picked at by a bear, shared tea made out of catkins and discussed fatherhood, fears and Gryll’s habit of drinking urine.

"He said it was one of the best days of his presidency," Grylls told reporters on Monday, according to Reuters. "There were times along the route I had to pinch myself and think, actually, this is the president of America'."

Obama visited Alaska earlier this year to observe the impact of climate change on the state.

The president sat on a shrinking glacier, spoke with villagers whose homes are threatened by eroding shorelines and discussed the salmon industry with local fisherman.

He is the first sitting president to visit the U.S. arctic, and he first to appear alongside Grylls.

"I hope we did something that really put a smile on his face that lasted for a while," Grylls said.
