You have to have wondered at some point while contemplating the International Space Station and its tenants — what's the bathroom situation up there? Well, Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti is here to tell you. In two videos totaling 10 minutes of exposition, she shows how the ISS crew stays clean and takes care of business.
Lack of gravity and the need to conserve every drop of water possible make for a very different, yet highly efficient, process. They've got time to get used to it, though — Cristoforetti has been up there for nearly six months, and a new mission will have one American and one Russian astronaut aboard for a full year.
