The women, co-founders of the Seattle chapter of Black Lives Matter, took over the microphone moments after Sanders began speaking and refused to relinquish it. Sanders eventually left the stage without speaking further and instead waded into the crowd to greet supporters.

Presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, backdropped by St. Peter's Basilica, talks during an interview with the Associated Press, at the Vatican Saturday, April 16. Sanders says he met Pope Francis Saturday morning before the pope left for his one-day visit to Greece. He says he was honored by the meeting, and that he told the pope he appreciated the message that he is sending the world about the need to inject morality and justice into the world economy.
