A celebration of the famous hairstyle, first created in 1960 by hairstylist Margaret Vinci Heldt as “something different,” that took women’s hair to new heights … literally.

From its comparatively demure debut as "something different" in 1960 to some outrageous incarnations in later decades, the beehive hairdo has transcended its original design and taken hairstyling to new heights ... literally.
In her signature role as Holly Golightly in the 1961 movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's," Hepburn sported a classic beehive hairdo.
