Bolt in the blue
Jamaican Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt runs to win the "Mano a Mano" Men's 150-meter challenge on Copacabana Beach in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on March 31. Bolt defeated Antigua and Barbuda's Daniel Bailey, Ecuador's Alex Quinones and Brazil's Bruno Lins de Barros on a specially built track at the famous beach.

Wild land, wildfire
Fire spreads across the Taim Ecological Station in Rio Grande do Sul state, Brazil, on March 27. The fire, which had started the day before, had reached approximately 1,400 acres and the risk of spreading was severe since there is no way to reach the place by water or land.

Rescuer in need of rescue
A Bowling Green, Ky., firefighter careens through the rapids of the Barren River on April 1 after trying to help rescue two teenage fishermen who were stranded in the rapids after their boat overturned. The fishermen were rescued after two hours, and the firefighter was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Greeen with unknown injuries.

The voice of the people
