Worshippers Sacrifice Goods to Volcano's Crater

In Indonesia's Kasada ceremony, Hindu worshippers throw offerings into a volcano's crater. Local villagers come to collect what they can.

The Kasada ceremony is a way for Tengger Hindus to express their gratitude to the gods for good fortune and a good harvest.

Worshippers climb Mount Bromo early in the morning and throw offerings into the volcano's crater. The offerings include vegetables, fruit, livestock, money and other valuables.
