What Did People Google in 2015? Top Searches Revealed

The tragic story of Lamar Odom, the former basketball star found unconscious in a Nevada brothel in October, captivated Google users in 2015.

His name was the top trending search term of the year, Google revealed on Wednesday. In the U.S., he was followed by the movies "Jurassic Park" and "American Sniper." Globally, Charlie Hebdo and the mobile game Agar.io"came in second and third place, respectively.

The most searched-for moment of 2015 was the Paris terror attacks, the subject of more than 897 million queries. That eclipsed the more than 439 million searches for Adele after the pop singer returned with a new album, "25," which is currently dominating the charts.

So what else were people looking for? Google released lists of the top searches in a wide array of categories.

Beer

The most searched-for brew in America was the Bud Light Mixxtail, a line of cocktail-flavored beers that come in three flavors: Long Island, Firewalker and Hurricane.

Politicians

Love him or hate him, Republican presidential primary candidate Donald Trump led the pack when it came to searches for politicians, beating out Bernie Sanders and Carly Fiorina.

Athletes

Sorry, Steph Curry! The Golden State point guard might be having a historic season, but he was the only the third most popular athlete on Google. He was beat out by UFC superstar Ronda Rousey. In second place was Holly Holm, who shocked the world by beating Rousey in November.

What Is ... ?

A lot of people searched "What is Ashley Madison?" after the infidelity site was hacked, but the top spot went to "What is 0 divided by 0?" The phrase became popular after Siri's snarky answer to the question went viral.
