Yahya al-Araj wants to learn how to read and write, but instead he’s already working as a mechanic in a small workshop in order to help his family. The 11-year-old was injured when an airstrike hit his Aleppo neighborhood and destroyed their apartment. "The doctors who took care of me and my parents at the hospital were very nice to us and we are now friends," he said. "I want to be like them. I never went to school and I can't write or read. I wish I could learn but I have to take care of my family.”
